About Us

Topknot Training Center has been in operation since 1973. Over that time, Jodie Johnson and her students have successfully trained and competed in AKC obedience competitions with a wide variety of breeds of dogs and have consistently ranked in the top of national obedience standings.

Our Training Philosophy

I want our dogs to be happy workers who want to please you, but to also know obeying commands is not optional. Ideally the earlier you start training your puppy the better, but older dogs can benefit as well. All lessons are conducted in my spacious, fully matted, climate controlled facilities.

Individual Lessons

Private lessons can be scheduled Monday to Thursday by calling (302) 678-0444. In these sessions, I teach you how to create a strong foundation for your puppy, with you as leader, establishing ground rules, dealing with issues such as jumping, puppy biting, house breaking, leash walking, and other behavioral issues.
